Across the AmLaw 100, female leadership in AI is most visible in three areas:
Women are leading AI governance, risk, and regulatory strategy rather than purely technical development.
AI leadership roles held by women are frequently embedded at the operational core of firms, linking innovation with client service delivery.
Innovation labs and transformation offices often include women in senior strategic roles, even where technical teams are broader and mixed.
Taken together, the data shows that women are not just innovators in legal AI—they are disproportionately responsible for translating AI from a conceptual capability into a functioning part of law firm operations.
