Reed Smith strengthens emerging technologies and transactional capabilities with addition of partner Kate Campbell in Chicago

“Kate brings exactly the combination of technology and transactional experience that clients increasingly need,” said Matthew Mohn, co-chair of Reed Smith’s Global Corporate Group and chair of its U.S. Corporate Group. “She understands how AI, data privacy, and cybersecurity issues intersect with transactions and broader business strategy. Her arrival adds further depth to our ability to help clients address these issues throughout the lifecycle of their businesses.”
Campbell works closely with in-house legal and business teams on data privacy, cybersecurity, and AI-related governance and compliance, as well as with M&A teams on data, software, and IT transitions and strategy. Her litigation experience also informs her counseling, particularly around data breach incident response and related disputes.
“Emerging technologies are creating tremendous opportunities for clients while fundamentally changing the regulatory and risk environment in which they operate,” said Sarah L. Bruno, co-chair of Reed Smith’s Emerging Technologies Group. “Kate has significant experience helping companies translate those developments into practical governance and commercial strategies. Her addition deepens our ability to advise clients as they develop, deploy, and transact around new technologies.”
